
Academic background and professional career
After graduating in law from the University of Zurich (lic. iur., 1994), Kaspar Meng was a law clerk at the District Court of Zurich (civil and criminal cases, Court for Landlord and Tenant Law, Court for Summary Proceedings). In 1997 he was a research assistant at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Zurich and in 1998 a law clerk at the Commercial Court of Zurich. In 1999 Kaspar Meng joined a large law firm in Zurich which specialized in business law. At the end of 2001, after taking an intensive English course in the USA, he became a partner in our law firm. In addition to his activities as a lawyer, Kaspar Meng is vice president of a building cooperative and board member of some privately held limited companies.
Kaspar Meng is vice president of the Appeals Committee of the Swiss Football League dealing with the granting of licenses, and he is a member of other committees of the Swiss Football Association.
Kaspar Meng is co-author of the Basel Commentary on the Swiss Criminal Code and regularly reviews specialized literature in law journals.
Preferred areas of practice
Kaspar Meng offers comprehensive legal advice to companies and to private individuals, including litigation. His core practice areas are in business law (commercial law and corporate law), particularly contract law, employment law, copyright law, intellectual property rights, trademark law, real estate and tenancy law, private construction law, media law, right to privacy, certain aspects of criminal law as well as in sports law.
